My mother's mum lost two brothers on the Somme. Hard to see the battlefield now, it's all just farming land and small towns now. Very brutal times.
Pomms have always been c#nts to their soldiers. After Breaker Morant they were universally hated by Australian fighting men. Morant was a scoundrel but should have been tried by his Australian peers not the Poms where were looking for someone tomake an example of.
