Happened to my first bus............but to get out of a jam I removed the washer so the plug would go in a bit deeper & grab good thread again. Used a bit of silastic to seal it.
3 years later it was still holding
If you pull the sump off you will see why they strip out
I'm going to buy a tourque wrench on saturday.Ive never been worried about overtourqeing bolts before , but after this thread I think i'm going to be a LOT more careful about this,ive always been touchy feely about this .I've always tourqed up bolts/nuts about 1/4-1/2 a turn at first resistance when doing up bolts.
