Yeah............the old stripped sump plug trick 
Happened to my first bus............but to get out of a jam I removed the washer so the plug would go in a bit deeper & grab good thread again. Used a bit of silastic to seal it.
3 years later it was still holding
If you pull the sump off you will see why they strip out
