A friend of mine recently had fitted a pair of oggy knobs or sliders whatever you wanna call them, to his almost new Triumph speed-triple. He took a slide and those sliders caused his bike to be a write off due to cracking frame or engine housing not sure, where the knobs were fitted.
I personally am very apprehensive about all these various units on the market. No doubt a sidestand fall no probs any of them will save some damage on fairing. But in a slide some can cause greater damage instead of saving you dollars.
Some bikes have special mounting places for these knobs, I say fair enough the mounts were designed to take it. The busa have no such mounts that Im aware of. I have seen what appears to be a good crash pad for the gixxer, tho strangely only for the left side they dont make one for the right. So all Im saying is be careful of which you choose, cheapies are not necessarily a solution but perhaps a recipe for more trouble.
