You don't have to wait mate. Stick em on anyway and then you will notice the improvement once the fueling is reset.
You may need to scavenge the copper gaskets that fit between the midpipes and cans out of your OEM cans or buy a new pair for about $7 from Mr Suzuki when fitting the new ones.
