Where can you in the US do over 300 km/h (197 mph) LEGALLY? Yes we can and for some thousands of miles. Go beat that.
Don't know where you got that fuel bit, but we have 'premium' fuels at most pumps, in fact I use Shell Optimax if I'm not mistaken it's a 96, 97 or so octane.
Go from Adelaide to Perth on the Nullabor, yeah thats pretty much a straight line through the red desert for about 3000 klm. Otherwise rolling hills are everywhere near the major city's. In fact here in Melbourne just 40 minutes takes you to some of the scariest twisties you'll ever come across enough to make your sphincter wish you were home. Not to mention the famous Great Ocean Road that we have here so close by.
That's not to say you don't have great roads in the US, I am sure you do, but we have plenty. Maybe your Aussie mate was too busy shaggin Aboriginis in the outback where the roads and fuel are crappy and never bothered looking for the good stuff.
On a final note, we here in the State of Victoria are lucky that we are a very motorcycle orientated culture, that can bring about thousands of bikes on any one day and can you in the US when going into the city just park ANYWHERE as we do, namely on the footpath in front of any major city building not having to worry about paid parking or meters?
Nah mate, it would take alot to top riding in Australia especially Victoria, the only bugger is that our state limit is 110 km/h (maybe 70 mph), but we manage to find roads to justify our Busa. Oh in case your wondering then where the 300+ legal is, in the Northern Territories State.
