I too had a problem with RACV after getting a puncture miles from anywhere where the mobile didn't work.
Fortunately i was near a house who allowed me to use their phone, but after numerous call and waiting 3 hours I hitched a lift after leaving the bike in the front yard. I was home before the RACV called to say they had arrived.
I returned with the car and took my tyre to be fixed.
I now carry a can of Motul tyre repair as well as a small pump and gauge under my seat just in case.
