Ginger's Creek, NSW

Had a fantastic weekend going up to the Oxley highway (north of Sydney) with 12 other bikes last weekend. Superb bike roads and some pretty high average speeds even before we got to the Oxley. We went via Putty Rd, Gloucester, Wingham, Comboyne (had to do about 20kms of dirt - first time on the busa).
The place we stayed at was great. A roadside cafe in the middle of rainforest on the Oxley highway halfway between Port Macquarie and Tamworth - it's called Ginger's Creek and the proprieters are terrific people who put us up in cabins and provided excellent tucker. Sunday morning I found I had a flat (no tread left on the rear tyre and a sharp stone had peirced the carcass!) so I couldnt do my top speed attempt on the busa - damn! Had to keep to 160 only on the way back which was via Thunderbolts Way. The straights are wonderful and mile after mile of 35km bends - who needs track days?
No doubt some of you know the area Im talking about but for those who don't you really should check it out.
In fact maybe we should organise a Sydney busa run up there sometime. Ideally ride up on the Friday, spend Saturday based at Gingers with much hooning up the Oxley and then return on Sunday - busa heaven!

bye, fenda
