Sunday was one wet bugger of a day.
Left Shell Laverton with 2 gsxr750's,
1 Blade, 1 BMW (you know, the one with
the duke arse end and funky headlights
up front, though cannot remember model),
12 R1's (all tricked up) and 2 stove hot
Busas
By Lara we were all soaked to the inside
of our respective undergarments and 7
R1's decided to call a day. Fair enough
as many had pilot race tyres. Great in the
dry but......
Took the back way from Lara bypassing Geelong
and down the otways through Deans Marsh into
Lorne. There was one sick puppy on a Dragon
Corsa equipped R1 that had scrape marks on his
left hand engine (alternator??) cover, I tried
to keep up but discretion overcame my valor. What
I did see were stunning lean angles. Sick, fair
dinkum. Also very talented.
Ballsy's Busa was sporting new Dragon's and jeez
he is a competent rider. I've seen him at track days
on his 1340 but on the road its something else.
OH YEAH, he did a wicked 1,2,3,gear mono that lasted
forever (at least 500m).
Had lunch at Lorne whilst waiting for rain to subside
and then attacked the cool section. Saw 2 jaffbusas
heading opposite in opposite direction. Think maybe
snaggs or gazza though not positive.
Anyway it was a "rapid" run though sick puppy on the
R1 was unbeatable. Least he slowed down to play.
There were a lot of cars on the road as well which
suprised me given the weather.
Reached AB, had a smoke, waited an eternity for adolph
on zee Bee Em Vee to rock on up and watched the rolling
skies with apprehension. Deciding it was going to piss
down, the lads thought a sprint up to Lavers Hill was
in order. My sanity prevailed and I headed back the
back way. And was soaked to the bone for the entire
journey.
I loved it. Way cool and I would do it again.
Sorry to hear Saturdays ride was a fizzer.
next time.
