The old man used to have a 3.0L Mitsu Pagero and traded to a Toyota Turbo Diesel. (Direct Injection)
Fuel economy is better, along with torque, and you don't notice the engine drain when the a/c is on.
He has an auto and it has similar, if not quicker takeoff (and alot smoother and quieter) than the petrol pagero.
Diesel engines have come a long way.
