Hello all, not bike related but need advice from people who own utes or 4WD's. I'm planning to buy a new, or almost new, Dual Cab, 4WD ute. Out of all the twin cabs I have narrowed it down to the Nissan Navara ST-R and the Mitsubishi Triton GLS (both are 2nd hand with only 5000k and 7500k on them), both handle great and roughly same features and price up front. BUT the Nissan is an Manual Turbo Diesel, and the Mitsubishi is an Auto V6 Petrol.
Which would be better around town for economy and running expenses, and bearing in mind that I run up to the country Swan Hill way every couple of months for a few days. The Nissan has heaps of Torque and towing capability, but Mity has excellent take-off power and looks! I will be shoving a 200kg plus engine in the back every now and then, towing just standard trailers once a month.
What are the running rosts and servicing schedules and hassles on a turbo diesel compared to a V6 petrol ?? And reliability, and availability of parts, and costs??
Any handy hints from those tradeys out there?! Peter
