Maybe my definition of a tank slapper is a bit broad, or maybe I've just been lucky.
The 'worst' one I've had was coming off the Princess highway at the 2nd werribee turnoff during roadworks, where there were multiple uneven layers and 'dribbles' of asphalt across the exit. @ about 100kph the handlebars were going crazy, although I don't think they were going through 100% of the range. It sorted itself out as the bike slowed down itself and yeah. Bike had no damper at all and I didn't think much of it apart from thinking that it'd been a 'slapper.
The other memorable one was on the Busa on one of our rides through the black spur to yea way, when overtaking the front wheel hit a lump of asphalt and went a bit crazy too, though it sorted itself out pretty quick.
Is there another name for these not-quite-slapping-the-tank-slappers or is that their name??
