Suzuki Hayabusa vs Triumph Rocket 111
#1
As you all may be aware, this morning we had a ride before our Sydney Spannering Session. Turned out to be an eventful day.

In the group we had Simmo, Gary, Mark, and myself. I was riding #2 as Simmo was navaguessing his way around the state of NSW. We turn onto the Putty at Colo and head towards Windsor when after a couple of K's Simmo the navaguesser decides that lets all turn left into a side road right NOW. So we have 4 bikes, all with their noses pinned to the ground, squirming merrily away. Now in this situation the Busa brakes are not the best but the Triumph Rocket brakes, trying to haul up 400kg of prime pommy engineering (although it's getting lighter from the oil pissing out of it) are even more woeful.

Enter the Hotbus, almost at a standstill and about to turn into aforementioned road when BLAM!!! I feel a tap on my elbow and my bloody LH mirror just %$#^ dissapears. Prime pommy piece of engineering goes flying past Hayabusa on the left hand side, clipping the mirror or so i thought. I got off the bike, pulled what was left of the mirror (ie the stalk) back into position ($%^# knows why) and throw the remains into the bushes. Clearly PPP of E is not able to outbrake a Hayabusa with a desperate but determined rider on board.

When we got to Simmos place we all decided to survey the damage. There is a scrape and knock marks to the LH fairing. I considered that part a write off so told Mark I would have to claim. Up until that time the main banter was about the mirror and how 1 mirror was the new black. I tell you, you dont know something's there or useful until it's bloody missing though and you can see the road through something that used to remind me with confidence how attractive I was to the other sex. At least I've got 1 left, unless he decides to smash that off too.

Damage to the Rocket is confined to 1 engine crash bar being bent back, just above the bracket where the training wheels bolt on

Luckily nobody was injured, although a few cm to the right and I would be going to Hospital with broken limbs.

OK Boys, all in good jest, pile on in. I know Simmo has some funny comments, and Pan has just ridden all the way back to Marrickville, through Customs and Quarantine (they found 4kg of grass on him too, so watch this space) thinking up mirror jokes.

Pictures are on their way, need to reformat and post before this kicks off.

Bill of Damage.
LH Fairing
LH Mirror
Fully floating rotors
Brembo Calipers
Brembo master cylinder
Turbocharger.............the list goes on.

Graham
