Ray, I found an ad in the local paper for all the new demerit points which start on Friday 1st July in NSW.
Not stop at a red light is now $300 and 3 points,
Tailgating or fail to stop without hitting the vehicle in front, $300 and 3 points,
Driving with obscured or illegible number plate $300 and 3 points.
Fail to keep left on a Mutli laned road $225 and 3 points.
Disobey a No right or left turn sign or No Entry sign $175 and 2 points.
Parking or Stopping on or near a pedestrian or school crossing $225 and 1 point.
Further to this, from the 1st July, Double demerits periods will only apply to specific offences such as, no seat belt, speeding, no helmet.
Starting next year merit points will be awarded for good driving records.
Now how will they work them out I wonder?
