Heidi, Caught up with the girl from the pub again for a xmas drink. The FOX is an interesting woman. What a co-incidence that the friend she knew that rode a Hyabusa in Canberrra, was also the one person I knew of that did same - she couldn't believe it when I offered to guess her Canberra friend's name - and got it in one!
As for Italy, I recommend that the ONLY means you use to get around is a m'bike or scooter as the road rules are open to interpretation - and the Italians always seemed to interpret them differently to me. A m'bike will help you keep clear of the permanent traffic jams. If in doudt - use the footpath. The narrow cobbled roads will open your eyes.
