Far out don't get me started on the topic of governments, police or guns please..........
Was just coming back from summernats a couple of hours ago - on Northbourne just before the Exhibition park turnoff. Anyway, I was trundling along at about 70 in an 80 zone, then the lights turned orange, so I took it up to about 85 to beat the lights. Anyway, see a flashing light in my mirrors so I pull over. Turns out the cop wanted to give me a lecture about running orange lights of all things lol (no ticket) !!!!
What was the point of that????
Personally I think he just pulled me over just to have a good look at the bike.
Anyway, the irony of the situation is that I'm pretty sure the cop ran a red light just to be able to pull me over for nothing - work that out !!!
It's the old adage isn't it - one law for them and another for us.
On the topic of guns, I don't see how it is fair that just about the whole population of Australia has to be punished for the sins of one crazed gunman (Matin Bryant, if I'm not much mistaken). Australia is not America where every person is out to kill each other. We Aussies are a lot more sensible and intelligent bunch, so I see no need for the guns laws to be the way they are.
The sad thing is it stops average joes such as myself from enjoying myself i.e. going out hunting roos or foxes around the place, and instead I supposed to derive my enjoyment from "fun" activities like playing computer games like half my generation these days ????
I would just love to go out roo shooting, even if it is only once, but unfortunately the way our country is becoming paranoid about national security garbage it doesn't look like that'll ever happen (sigh).
Get lost, it's just not me !!!!!
Anyway that's just my two cents worth - I am basically in agreement with everything that's been said her so far.
Paul.
