Well I've owned both the zx12r was when I went to the dark side. I've owned 4 busas & have 2 at the moment.
In standard set up the 12 does feel better to ride up the twistes but not when pushed as it is set up for a 68kg ride from factory & it has issues . There is plenty of stuff on the zx12r web sites to back this up as well.
I had tank slapper problem with mine at 240 Ks which was scary shit. This was from trying to make up for the shit suspension by adjusting it all to suit my weight.
The kawa shop just wanted to sell me a sterring dampner but
that would just mask the problem not fix it.
I spent $1100 & had the suspension done up & then it was fine.
My 1st busa in 99 I did 30k on it with stock suspension in it
& only played with the setting & it was fine. Although I do have full race tech in my current busa its better.
My mate at work just got a 12r & he is having suspension issues as well. But he got it for $15700 new ride away so he can spend some $s on it at that price
The 12 IS HEAVIER ON THE FUEL.
They have not got as good bottom end as the busa . The 1st thing i did was put on a smaller front sprocket to help it out.
As for strengh of the donk ,as I wanted to go turbo I was advised not to do the 12 as it would'nt handle it.
