If you were riding a Triumph Sprint ST 99 model, there was a recall on the clutch cable because it had a severe bend in the cable guide just below the lever attachment.
I broke one going over Mt Beauty on the way to the GP 2 years ago but mine had 45,000 ks on it at the time.
That was fun riding from Mt Beauty all the way to the Island with no clutch.
