Been there and done that. Luckily the prick hit the brakes and stopped in the middle of road and gave me the chance to get around him. Didn’t drop the bike but wiped out the L/H side (God only knows how I didn’t T bone him or smash me knee to bits on his bumper ). Quote to fix was $1914.16 & QBE (his insurance company) redid the quote with Peter Stevens and got it down to $1607.08 then gave me the shit story how I was 10% in the wrong and ended up giving me a cheque for $1446.37 in June 2001.
So I brought a Genuine stator cover for about $80 bucks (no bling in them days) and a L/H Std can from Jamie (club member from Ballarat) and managed to polish out the Black mark from his rubber bumper overrider (was an old HJ or HX Holden & luckily he had the rubber on his bumper or it would have shattered the fairing) so all up it only cost me $380 (yep std cans were gold back then ). So QBE and you will never get my business EVER.
That’s tonight’s bedtime story so GO TO SLEEP NOW
