Not sure if this is related.
A friend of mine was putting an led tail light in his 2006 GSXR1000 and he found the easiest point to pick up the wires was from a small loop like connector in the tail section under the rear seat. He got the light working fine and put it away.
2 weeks later he went to start the bike and it would crank over but wouldn't fire up. (Sounding familiar).
He had several so called experts come and look at it but after hours of testing it still wouldn't go and it had to be trailered to a dealer.
Just after the bike was offloaded and being wheeled into the shop a passerby asked what the issue was.
We told him and a wry smile came across his face.
He asked if the small loop wire thing had been touched to which the answer was yes.
We then disconnected the tail light, plugged the little loop in again and the bike started straight up.
Who would guess that a plug in the extreme rear of the bike would be of any consequence?
Anyway, just thought you may like to check on this.
I can only imagine how long the dealer would of taken to find the problem, and what they would of charged.
Disaster averted.
