Well... after getting off phone with my bike insurers (I really dislike strongly accented call center workers) I have found the following points:
1. Trailer MUST be registered
2. there are proper securing points for the bike
3. Better if towing vehicle insurance also covers trailer
4. Bikes comprehensive insurance covers bikes in transit in Australia with no exclusions as to type of trailer.
Of the above points only 1 & 4 are really required but #2 will reduce any insurance argument about if bike was properly secure and #3 shows that if another policy is covering trailer somehow then it reduces the argument that trailer was improperly used.
I do like them working for their money and had the guy putting me on hold to answer all my very specific questions LOL
