When I purchased my bike, I had to have it transported from Melbourne to Adelaide.
I insured it with Shannon's who were by far the cheapest and the most comprehensive, and I asked at the time if it would be covered in transit to which they assured me it would be.....I was never asked how it was going to be transported so I assume (yeah, I know, not safe to assume), that as long as it's done as safely as possible there shouldn't be an issue. Worth a phone call though if your worried.
