The price of the helmet has got zero to do with it.
I paid $850 for a top of the line Shoei and it was no better than the $200 cheap helmet i upgraded from.
I stayed with it for 4 years trying to convince myself it must be better,just recently bought a rjays helmet for $250 and it is heaps better than the Shoei.
Ask other riders for real life experince's is probably the best recommendation.
