ok had nearly fogot this story
about 1970 ,i and a few mates went for an easter ride down the east coast of tassy ( we all lived in Devonport ). If i remember the bikes were ES2 norton , I had a 500 twin Aerial red hunter, norton Dominator , Honda 450 ,AJS 500 single . The weather turned real cold wet and windy . going down Elephant pass ( near St Helens ) the road turned to ice
we all slid down the road , couldnt even stand up on the ice to walk we had to ride and walk on the edge of the road where we could -- no fun @ all
After we got to camp At St Helens , I was a pilion with afriend , we were going down a sandy track and it fell over pinning my leg underneath , the exhaust resting on my calf , ------- burning skin stinks --- especially when its your own . my friend wasnt strong enough to get the bike off me so I was laying ther for some time .I had the scar for years , The mecury cider might have been the cause of the problem and helped as an anasetic
We were wet & cold for 4 days .Got blown off the road near hobart
after I got home my sister ( a nurse ) tried to get me to go to hospital with
the burns , I think the cyder was still working its magic . Thankfully I have stopped drinking that stuff
