I notice in the south west there doesn't seem to be many main roads and I'm assuming people there.
Just curious, as every time someone mentions a place there I have to look it up and see where it is located...
the tour I am setting up is doing about 2500 klm but there are literally 1000's of k's left to ride if you want to do them all..
yes there are large areas of unroaded (or 4x4 roads) in the State but you can get over most of it except the southwest corner.
However, the k's in Tassie are not the same as on the mainland. I hav ebroken up rides into 350-450 k's per day as average speed is a lot lower unless you are happy doing tight twisties as over 100kph LOL
There are also a lot of roads that are better one way than the other. An example is the run we will do from east coast inland to Campbell Town over Lake Leake. Thats the best direction IMO but then we need to get back to east coast to finish off ride so we will backtrack. While not AS fun it is still a good ride.
GOOFTROOP knows a lot of the west coast roads better and he says the same.. you want to backtrack and loop to get teh best outta it.
personally I would prefer spending more time than needed to ride Tassie than do a flying visit. But each to their own
