Had the recalls done the next month, and had a few grumbles for 12 months with fuel filters, but once I cut all the screens out, replced the soft fuel lines, ditched the internal filter and ran 1 single inline filter ($5 lawnmower one) it has never played up. That was 13 years and over 250,000kms ago. Apart from shims and cam chain check at 150,000km, because it was getting noisey. It's never been near a mechanic.
Now that it's not being ridden so often I hope the gremlins don't get in.
How manys ks would it have done if you didn't maintain it do you think?
That's what I was tring to get across, some will just ride them in to the ground then replace them, leaving the new owner to weed through the under lying problems.
I've also owned a factory stock Busa with over 120k's and it still ran good numbers at the drags, also produced over 650hp out of them, but not without continued maintainence.
