Recently I have read some views on what this club is thought to be, and while everyone is entitiled to their view (and the right to air them) it sometimes makes me sad to see exclusionism as a basis for any view.
3 years ago I joined AHC after buying my first busa. I never even new the club existed and it was found using good ole google. Before joining I read over the clubs rules and description, I particularly liked the intro which said......
"Welcome to the Australian Hayabusa Club website.
We welcome new members and although ownership
of a Hayabusa motorcycle is a requisite it is NOT mandatory. You may be purchasing a Hayabusa in the future
or it may just be your dream bike.
Either way you are more than welcome to join this
Aussie Club and meet or chat online
with a fantastic bunch of people."
..... this appealled to me as I have been involved with exclusive clubs before, both a member and participant, and found I hated the one eyed views these type of clubs promote.
Over the past 3 years I have come to enjoy the personalities, banter and ALWAYS helpfulness of the club and I personally plan to be a part of it's future for many years to come even if I am a current owner of a busa or not. The few club rides I have been on were great and we enjoyed every type of member from the ill prepared (me) to those that enjoy the speed and handling of the busa (you know who you are LOL). To me it didn't matter if someone turned up on their busa or on another bike as our common thread was the pure enjoyment of a wonderful bike, the GSXR1300 Hayabusa.
In todays bike world there are many arguments that can successfully dispprove the busa's superiority as the "best" bike, each superbike has it merrits and it really comes down to a personal choice in my eyes. I love my busa due to it's looks, reputation, riding ease (which I only found out after I started riding it LOL) and looks (oh wait I said that already) and it will always be the #1 choice for me. Currently I own 2 but trying to sell 1, current life issues could even see me selling the other one soon which will make me a non-owner of a busa. If this happens I do hope that my views and membership will still be wanted here. Only joking, I know I will still be a member here regardless as I found this group of people generally a very accepting bunch.
Okay, thats my little rant, ignore it as you will just try to remember that individuality is what born the busa, to be different, to be better, to be the best....
