G'day Huffy,glad to hear your going to have a run at the drags. The clutch mod is not essential but does make the bike easier and more pleasant to launch. As for your gearing.....one down on front,two up on the rear is a great all round starting point. To lower your bike there are many varieties of adjustable lowering links available for the rear and buy a lowering strap for the front. This keeps it streetable if required.
