1.5m separation trial for push bikes
#2
While cycling is becoming ever more popular we all have to think about the impact of cyclists on our roads. I have no issue of our roads being shared with them but if we have to be considerate of cyclists then it should go both ways. So many times I have come across a group (3 or more) riding side by side taking up the whole lane... While they are riding as safe as they can the low speeds they do create dangerous actions from motorists trying to get past.
I say let cyclists loose on any road with a posted speed of 60k or lower, for roads posted at 80 set a min speed of 60 , roads posted 90 a min speed of 70 and so on... If anyone ( including motorists )are found continually going under the min speed book the crap out of them . If they want specialised tracks outside city limits then they can fund them just as us rego payers fund common roads. Who knows some do gooder gov idiot might find millions in grants to make cycle only tracks that go for miles and miles..
