Just got home from 2 blasts down and back up the Oxley. New 190/55 pilot power 3 on the rear of my k6 gsxr1000. Very first impression, different. Not a bad sort of different but took a little getting used to. Lateral grip, very good, probably better than pp2cts. I think the pp2cts provide better feed back but having said that on 30 or more occasions i deliberately got on the gas very early out of corners to try and provoke some sort of response and it just didn't happen. Went through heavy rain for about 30ks on the open section east of Walcha. Under heavy acceleration and braking the pp3 has the goods on the pp2ct in the wet. Didn't get the opportunity to test the wet weather cornering. First impressions, don't run a 55 series on a busa. Generally a fan of the 190/55s but with the pp3s your knee is on the ground well before you reach the slick portion of the tyre and the front tyre is already out to the edge. The 190/55 is extremely crowned. Probably great for track days but wasted even on very aggressive street running. For those that are into the looks of their bike the 190/55 looks skinny because of how steeply crowned it is. First impressions, probably a step up from the pp2ct and probably a very suitable tyre for the busas. If i eventually fit pp3s to the genII i will fit a 50 series to the rear. Will keep a tab on how well they wear in comparison to the pp2ct. Just what i found, interested in what others think. Have a blast, Paul.
