Divide the rear teeth by the front teeth to give you a figure.
eg 40 divided by 17 equals 2.3529, this is stock.
38 / 16=2.375
42 / 17= 2.470
39 / 16=2.4375
40 / 16= 2.5
42 / 16=2.6
45 / 17=2.647
I have tryed all of these combos and more I also have an 18 front and a 19 on order, but on stock motor I think the best is stock ratio or maybe a 17-42, it does depend on your riding style, I found that my 60's suffered when i used a 16 tooth front with every rear ratio.
Personally I like a 17-41 this will keep you up around 140+ and if you can control your clutch enough you should be good for low 1.6 or maybe a 1.5, but I had to wait to get the 41 in so it might be worth juggleing your ratios around.
This is what works for me, and as I said I have tryed a lot of ratio's, I have a lot of sprockets in good nick if anyone wants to try the same out.

I will let a little secret out too, TLR's have the same output shaft as a Busa, but they dont make Busa 18's AND 19's, so you can get a cush drive front if you want to pay for it.
