Hi Kev
I've done a few trips across Aus and have used both types of suits for the trip and both have there pros and cons..
The 2 Piece was Great as I could use it all year round as the Thermal Lining etc was removable but I found that in really bad conditions that it would start to leak but where talking extreme. Otherwise the 2 Piece was very Good....
The last trip I did I had a One Piece and must admit it was surprisingly good and was very easy to carry. As Shifu mentioned the 1 Piece packs up nice and tight and is very easy to carry and if it looked like rain is all to convenient to pull over and chuck it on. I also had a minor issue with the 1 Piece leaking also in extreme condition in the crutch area but otherwise the suit was very good as well.
If I was commuting daily I would be inclined to use the 1 Piece as you can get dressed and it's as simple as putting it on and taking it off when you get there so for practicality and ease I would lean this way.
If I was doing more the long distance stuff I would probably go with the 2 Piece I just found the 2 Piece a better fit and more comfortable on the longer hauls especially across Aus.
This was the main reason why I had both 1 Piece for everyday use and the 2 Piece for the weekends away of in some cases weeks nd would have to agree with what has been mentioned about the 1 Piece Dri Rider both normal wet weather suit and the quilted. The Quilted is excellent in Winter but doesn't quite pack up as tight but both 1 Piece Suits are excellent for the price.
So there you go that's my 2 cents worth both options are both very good it really comes down to what you and the cook are happy with so have fun and there's plenty of good brands out there.
