Bike uses nose / headlight circuit as an earth ballast for it's electronics so there is a good chance it's interfering in some way and hence effecting gauges.
Also the slim line ballast can have a prob with over heating when tucked into confined areas.
Do you use the start method that allows bike to start before headlights are powered ?

I dont use that method as I have no problem with the runing light( low beam). The problem is when the bike is running and switching on main/high beam so it would be recieving full battery power
