Thats pretty much the case with all inflated Oz pricing; its the importer/distributor fat cat. The same guys that try to block people buying overseas by locking overseas distributors/retailers into restrictive practices.

As to stories about differences in direct imports vs distributor imports, its probably just the old helmet bull shit we've heard so many times before.
