Having largely ignored the rectumfrier threads, I encountered something unexpected this week on my 2010/11. I was aware the battery may have been lowish due to limited riding over the past few weeks, but after about a half hour or so of riding in traffic (temp gauge was as high as I've seen it) I stalled the bike (yes my fault entirely). When I tried to re-start all indications were that the battery was near flat and I was up for a push start. A few prods on the starter got the engine back into life, although at no time did I get a healthy spin going. After getting it going and returning home all was good.
Only thing I can think of is some sort of compression lock, as it cannot have been the battery due to the short period of time between the problem and getting home.
