I have around 125,000kms on my '00. About 95,000 of those are mine, and I ride around the 3-5000rpm range with the odd 6000rpm.
Decent mechanic said there was no cam chain noise at around 85,000kms. I didn't ask him to check, he was just gushing about the good condition of the busa at such high mileage. Doesn't sound all that different to when I first got the bike, but I'll get a knowledgable opinion at some point.
With the work I've done myself on the bike, I think the CCT messing up is the least of my worries.
If you don't know what you're doing, get the OEM solution fitted, - they have an excellent record worldwide with serious riders. <i></i>
