Throttle locks

A throttle lock is a MUST if you're travelling. It's not cruise control because the bike will always slow down or speed up a bit when you lock it. It also needs to be adjusted so it's very easy to wind the throttle off against it with no real force. But fantastic to give your right hand a shake or rest for 30 seconds or so.

This is what I use. It is a generic that I've had on my bike for about 10 years. Cost me $12 at the time. I assume most bike shops ould still have them, or could get them.



I used to be able to attach to the bike or remove in about 30 seconds, but over time the pin died, hence the screw. It now takes the time to get the screwdriver out of the tool kit as well as about 30 seconds. Ideal for when you forget to take it off at a trackday! - you are not allowed on a track with any type of throttle lock.

I wouldn't be without it.

If You want to do it properly & are not a cheap bastard (No offence Wardy) , Get a proper one , Throttlemeister ,they work by twisting the bar end to lock/unlock ,about $150 But way better than those nasty plastic thing's .Wouldn't do Tathra without one 4500 km trip .

I use the O ring because I AM A CHEAP BASTARD !

Not cheap - I'd prefer "being moneywise" we would just like to invest our hard earned in more meaningfull vocations . . . like bourbon
