ignition timing

I know this is opening up a can of worms and potentially revealing secrets but here goes.As col and faster do the yosh box fuel tuning and i know col does the gps mod or some do the tre,my question is this.factory pro website shows a power run in fifth gear providing less power than sixth gear map until the last 500rpm.Wouldn,t it be better to set the gps to show 6th gear only and remove the top end ignition retard?.Secondly if someone had a pc2 or 3r or ignition module without the gps mod what is the bikes ignition timing in the gears other than the mapped gear?Surely ignition timing on a busa makes a difference otherwise people wouldn,t harp on about tres so much.
