I sometimes suffer the same symptoms that TimJ is getting.
I do have the stock adjuster and have had to use it about 3 times in 2 years.
His description is accurate. If the idle drops below 1000 RPM, the bike does not run as smooth across the rev range.
I have noticed that if you take a prolonged run above 200kph, sometimes the idle does not return to what it was set as previously.
