Happy Riding
Damn where is that nodding icon ?
Peter,
Got the ECU back and put it in. Since my remote filter instal is finished it was all ready to go. Started sweet and the iddle was steady and even unlike before. The problems start about 6-8k RPM when it wants to blow my new exhaust off (nice blue flames by the way ) Is it too rich or a timing issue? I am planning to get it on dyno for tuning but is it save to ride with it?
Andrew I thought you would have recieved ECU back a week ago ? Re problems I need a bit more info re problems ???? Blow exhaust off ? Is it backfiring ? When it's doing this are you under full throttle under load ? light load ? etc etc What other problems between 6 and 8 K
Have you plugged the Pair Hose from the AIR Box ? Is it an ignition FAULT as in are you controlling shifter thru the ECU or with controller supplied. If using shifter controller would suggest disconnect shifter and try again as it sounds like where the prob could lie if it's losing ignition.
From what you describe it sounds like ignition kill is coming in to early ? Check your shifter settings and shift controller set up (I'm presuming your not using the ecu to control shift ? I would flash and control thru the ECU as it uncomplicates things)
Also are you free reving bike in neutral as in stationary or riding it ? (ECU will be seeing neutral map) If this is the case take it for a ride and operate under normal conditions. I'm leaning and looking to other probs beside the map as it would be unusual for ignition and fuelling to be that far out.
In summary if free reving to 6 -8 K in neutral without pair hose being blocked one could imagine this scenario as it burns back thru exhaust, (again I'm only presuming by blowing exhaust off you mean backfiring ?) but once again stress would bring bike back to standard configuration to isolate area of issue first.
Best I can do at this point with limited info ?
Give me a call 0419498858 (tonight if you wish, I just tried calling you re this matter)
What model HM shifter do you have ? From reading their info it's just a foot operated ignition shift kill unit ?
Cheers Pete
