This thread is an example of the sort of thing that made me decide to abandon the forum last time round. Seems some are too quick to attack.
Just a few thoughts for the members AND moderators.
Some of the statements in various threads are/border on actionable should people choose to go that way. While everyone seems to think you can say what you like on the internet, in Australia there is no protection if you make actionable statements on a forum. Equally, the owners/moderators of any forum are liable for any statements made on a forum. While in the USA, there is a law that protects site owners from statements made by their members, no such law exists in Australia, and even the local office of a US company site has been found liable in Australian courts.
I'm possibly the last person who would run to the courts, however there's no guarantee that someone out there won't decide their reputation, private or business has been slighted....
Before anyone jumps on me, I'm not pushing anyone's barrow, just suggesting that engage brain might be a good first step.
