" I cannot support it at all. It is not in the public interest. This bill rewards wrongdoing."

Labor MP Frank Terenzini on Liberals & Nationals 2009 Bill to remove the demerit points anomaly, 29 October 2009.[1]

Shadow Minister for Roads Andrew Stoner today welcomed news the Keneally Labor Government had bowed to the NSW Liberals & Nationals demands to reform the State's driver demerit point system.

Following pressure from the NSW Liberals & Nationals, the Keneally Labor Government today agreed to close an anomaly in the Road Transport Act where people who had driving convictions overturned in Court were still hit with demerit point penalties.

Mr Stoner said the change to the legislation was great news for the State's motorists.

NSW Libs & Nats to fix driver demerit anomaly

Wednesday, 01 December 2010 12:56
Shadow Minister for Roads Andrew Stoner today said the NSW Liberals & Nationals would remove an anomaly in the State's driver demerit point system whereby drivers lose demerit points even when they have convictions for low-range speeding and traffic offences overturned.

Mr Stoner said the NSW Liberals & Nationals will move an amendment in the Legislative Council today that will allow Courts to reinstate demerit points when ruling on low-range speeding (less than 10km/h over the speed limit) and traffic offences such as bus or transit lane violations.

"Under Labor, countless parents, truckies, business owners and workers across New South Wales are losing their licences as the result of a glitch in the system," Mr Stoner said.

And now the usless commo labor government mongrels want to stop ya from going fishing !;
