Labor's stimulus package (the whole thing, not just the 'plasma bonus') spared Australia from the worst of the GFC.
Yep that's surely what we're suppose to believe no doubt about it.
Had absolutely nothing to do with the 12 years of sound government policy prior, getting rid of the Hawke, Keating 90 billion debt and in fact adding a 40 b surplus never helped, no way.
Also getting Australian companies more competitive on the global market (work choices amongst other reforms ie the warfies) couldn't have possibly helped one bit, no I'm sure it was the billions in hand out cheques so the average half wit can piss it up the wall at the local pub.
Not to forget the Chinese bats in the roofs, that's gotta help.
I think, it was Israel some years ago during a recession, the government built a massive hydroponics farm in the desert, today it's one of the country's largest money earners. But perhaps their government missed the point entirely, I'm sure it would have been far, far more popular to post out cheques to everyone and to hell with the future, let's just get voted back in.
Calm down.
Of course if it wasn't for Howard/Costello's surplus, Labor wouldn't have been able to stimulate the economy.
There is no disputing that.
Even your mate Tony Abbott and that fat pretentious blowhard Hockey agree that the stimulus insulated us from the ravages of the GFC. Of course, our terms of trade position didn't hurt either.
If Malcolm Turnbull hadn't been knifed, he would now be PM, with a clear majority (and I would have voted for him). Abbott polarises people. Clearly more hate him than like him. If he was any good, he would be PM.
Gillard has turned out to be a serious disappointment. All words, and no action. Keeping that control freak Rudd as foreign minister removes any credibility she may have had.
Her statements on Assange are a national embarrassment. About the only good thing they have done is the NBN.
