Hi Pete,
To be honest, I wasn't really looking at the F1 light but I could definitely hear the pump (although it did seem to go for an abnormally long time) when I turned the key on. It did fire once, but all it would really do was wind over. In my mechanic's defence, his statement was made after a quick glance. When I spoke to him thisarvo he said he had the battery on charge and would have a good look in the morning. I'll let you know more tomorrow ..

My biggest concern would be the statement "it looks like the fuel pump" Is he guessing or has he tested for pressure and volume ?
He should really know if it is or not, unless the statement he made was just at a passing glance as you dropped it off in that case it's fair call at that point.
There is many things that can cause the prob any more info would help.
