Not from Action was it? Friggin dealership mechanics etc... that I've dealt with are absolute liars and do it shamelessly.
So long as it's working perfectly, your mate should just wear earplugs to block out the noise. My gearbox is noisey on gear changes, but it's done 170,000km and is performing beautifully so who cares?
