Just one question to Busa riders...I tend not to split lanes and go in between very slow to stopped cars because I think the Busa is a big machine. Also, for example waiting to go on a freeway ramp I just wait a few cars back because it's really 2 seconds work to get past once the traffic is on the ramp.
Does anyone find that despite the bulk that lane splitting do-able?
Also anyone get fined for doing it? (Cops do it!)
I occasionally do it when the gap is big and also from the inside left too if there is a big space there...what would the LAW say?
Oh, one more thing, occasionally there is a marked little laneway on the left, as if to specifically let bikers through to the front. Sometimes there is a painted figure of a bike there and sometimes there isn't. I have gone to the front a few times this way and of course when the green comes on, they are all specks in my mirrors. Lately I have resisted doing this as I know they are fund-raising for the Government in a BIG way. On one of the tunnels, there are that many cameras you could lose all your money & your license at the other end in one go!
