strip down the pump/filter assembly and put your fingers over the inlets and outlet ,shake the filter then tip out via the inlet, refill with clean fuel and repeat, shake ,tip ,fill. after a while you get less mud , you could use compressed air to help blow out the fuel and crud but turn down the pressure and be carefull as you don't want to blow holes in the filter .
