After reading several reviews they seem to have a couple of issues I'd like further clarification on.
External fuel pump; Once replaced is it an ongoing issue, likely to keep playing up? How common is / was the problem?
Cracked rear subframes; Common? Fixable? how easy is it to spot an issue with the rear subframe when doing a pre purchase look over?
Any other problems i should look for?
The fuel pump has very small filters in it that clog up - you need to pull the pump apart and clean/replace them - mine were done around 30k but it depnds on how clean the fuel you put in is so could need doing anytime - you will know when as you get fuel starvation problems.
The rear subframe on the 99 models were aluminium and some did crack around the welded section where it bolts onto the main frame. you will need toget it rewelded or fit a steel one if it shows and sign of cracking.
The cam chain adjuster was a recall to fit an oil line to it to stop it failing - bike should have a recall sticker on it to say its been done.
all i can think of at the moment - Cheers Baz
