in the old days batterys were rated in amperehours,eg 100 ah means the battery can deliver 1 amp for 100 hours or 100 amps for 1 hour which basically gives you some idea how long the battery will last in certian conditions.
this new idea of cold cranking amps is a cover up so they don't tell you the real capacity of the battery eg 400 cold cranking amps but for how long they don't say probably 20 seconds cause it is made of re used beer cans,cars can use up to 400 amps in a burst to get the starter motor to turn the engine over.only for short bursts of course.
