I have heard that they need about 10-15 minutes to replace the charge from starting, so 100km every 4 days is heaps. I am only onto my second, my first lasted 8 years, with big 5 day a week rides to work of 200km. the one now sits in the shed on an intelligent trickle charger, and is only started every other month. It's still perfect after 3 years.
Unless you are in a really extreme climate, there must be something wrong. I'd take it to an auto elect. (at least if under 12 months they should allways replace under warranty)
